Customer Marketing Manager
Pernod Ricard

Janette WebsterJanette has an impressive CV; prior to securing her current position as Customer Marketing Manager for Pernod Ricard she was part of the European Team for Glenmorangie in Edinburgh, before moving to London to work for L'Oreal, followed by Moët Hennessy.

When Janette graduated from the Business School at Robert Gordon University in 1995, she never thought she would end up living in London and working for one of the world's leading wine and spirit companies, Pernod Ricard. "I love the variety of my job. I work in customer marketing in the wines division. Although I work across the whole wines portfolio, my main focus is the Jacob's Creek brand.

"I work very closely with the consumer marketing and sales teams, helping to build the brand plans and in turn bring these to life in store through strong activation tactics. We have just launched a brand new, long term and fully integrated Jacob's Creek marketing campaign which has been challenging, but extremely rewarding. Coming from a sales background, working so closely with marketing has been yet another great learning curve for me but it's great to have experience of another area of business."

Janette's advice to new graduates:

"It is crucial to grab any relevant opportunities that come your way and learn as much as you can from them. Use your first few years to get some variety on your CV which allows you to focus on exactly which path you want to follow. Networking has also been crucial; I have made some really good contacts which has been a key factor to progressing in this industry."
