Safety doesn’t happen by accident!
Over 200 people are killed each year in accidents at work and over one million people are injured (HSE, 2016). Preventing accidents and ill health caused by work, therefore, is a key priority for everyone at work. As a consequence, recent trends across a number of industry sectors have witnessed a growing emphasis in the level of attention to and the importance of Health, Safety and Risk Management in the workplace. As the strapline for the course encapsulates, safety does not happen by accident, hence the relevance of this course. By providing high quality management education in health, safety and risk management as well as providing appropriate knowledge and skills for managers this course makes a significant contribution to the development of practice in this area and to organisational success and stability.
Those graduating with a masters in Health, Safety and Risk Management, already working in this area, will be able to demonstrate competency in the strategic management of Health, Safety and Risk and develop their career towards senior management roles.
