Law Placements: For employers

Student placements give you the chance to get an employee who will be enthusiastic and up-to-date with the latest skills and knowledge.

Our students can offer your company an extra pair of hands - to help on a specific project or in an area where you may be short staffed. You can offer them the chance to use their skills in a real-life environment and can really contribute to their learning.

Placement Opportunities

The following course offers an 18 week placement in year 3 (over the Summer):

Duration and Cost

Students receive no grant/loan aid over the Summer period and we request that employers offer some form of payment during the student's 18 week work placement period. Most employers pay in the region of £160 - £250 weekly.

While working for you, the student is covered by your insurance policies and will be required to adhere to all your company's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety. Therefore, the University will ask about your insurance and Health & Safety policies before the placement is agreed.

The Placement Office will send you a selection of CVs to choose from. After this the process normally follows the employer's usual application and interview procedures.

If you would like further information about placements please contact the Placement Office. The Placement Manager and Placement Officers liaise with, and are supported by, academic tutors.
