  1. 20, July, 2017 Year of international graduations for Veronica

    Veronica Cunningham, Doctor of Information Science (DInfSc)

    There will be three reasons for graduation celebrations in three different countries for Veronica Cunningham and her daughters Rachel and Zara this year. Veronica, originally from Sligo and Galway in Ireland but now based in Oslo, Norway graduated as one of RGU's first cohort of Doctor of Information Science (DInfSc) students. Rachel meanwhile graduates with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Parsons New School in Paris and Zara graduates with a BSc International Business Administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

    Students at RGU raised awareness of the leisure destinations directly accessible from Aberdeen Airport and promoted the convenience of choosing your local airport during a project carried out in association with the airport and local digital marketing agencies.

    A pioneering course in petroleum data management at RGU has proved to be so successful in its first year that Common Data Access (CDA) is offering two industry-funded scholarships for the second cohort of students.

    RGU has been awarded a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), placing it in the top 20% of the best universities in the UK for the quality of its undergraduate teaching and learning.

    Researchers from RGU have published a report following an investigation into the first batch of reports, filed in the UK under Chapter 10 of the European Union (EU) Accounting Directive. Under the Directive, large listed companies in extractive industries are required to report payments they make to governments on a country-by-country and project-by-project bas  

  8. 13, June, 2017 Law lecturers present on learning and teaching

    Two senior lecturers from RGU’s Law School who have been working on various projects to do with learning and teaching have presented papers at the QAA Scotland-hosted Higher Education Academy’s 3rd International Enhancement Conference: Inspiring excellence – transforming the student experience.

    Researchers from RGU have continued their analysis of Twitter response to the televised leaders’ debates with an evaluation of over 22,000 tweets sent during last night’s STV debate. Tweets using the #scotdebates hashtag were collected and analysed.

    The Information Management group at Robert Gordon University is to celebrate its 50th anniversary with a Friends and Alumni Reception on Wednesday, June 28 at Aberdeen Business School. All former staff and students are invited to attend the event which marks half a century of librarianship and information science education.
