The principle services offered from the UK operation include subsea engineering design and consultancy, project management and asset integrity services. This includes concept, FEED, detail design and project management of subsea developments; asset integrity engineering as well as installation/construction engineering.

Their key clients include North Sea and International Operators such as eni, BP, Total, Talisman, TAQA, Fairfield Energy, ONGC and Premier Oil as well as Installation Contractors, Fabricators and SPS Contractors.

The Scholarship

The Gavin Mackenzie Memorial Scholarship is open to second year students within the School of Engineering for the remaining 3 years’ of their course. They will fund £2,500 per annum, which means a total commitment of £7,500.

As well as funding, if business resource permits, the company scholarship could also include mentoring, an offer of a placement and support with an honours dissertation.

The scholarship will be awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit and personal characteristics. Applicants should demonstrate the following to the selection committee:

  • Enthusiasm, a high degree of motivation and determination to succeed academically and professionally 
  • A strong commitment to self-development and willingness to take a pro-active and committed approach to their education 
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills 
  • An awareness of, and interest in, their chosen field of study

Eligibility Criteria

How to Apply

The selection process begins with students completing an online application form.

This will be reviewed by a panel made up of representatives of the company and the university who will then shortlist a group of high performing students. In making this shortlist, attention will be given to the student’s background and achievements, their interest in the chosen field of study and other relevant information from their personal statement.

Company representatives are welcome to attend the interviews, which will emerge another shortlist of candidates. Renewal of the scholarship will be dependent upon good academic performance.

Applicants for the scholarship must have met the entry conditions of their UCAS offer from RGU and have formally accepted that offer. Furthermore, applicants should not be in receipt of any other academic scholarships during their course of study.

No age restrictions will be applied.
