Architecture Construction & Surveying Placements: Employers

A placement student can be an important asset to any organisation. You may wish to take on a placement student to undertake a specific project, to cover a temporary staffing need or even to fill a permanent role. Placement students can make important contributions to organisations using their newly developed knowledge and skills.

The underlying concept behind this strategy is to develop students to their full potential. However, the student should not be the sole benefactor of the process, as developing individual capability plays an important role for the development of an organisation.

Placements are paid and although it is up to the employer and student to negotiate rate of pay, the Placement Office issues a guide of £6 - £7.50/hour or £11,000 - £16,000/year.

The Placement Office will send out a selection of CVs for a potential placement host to review. Thereafter the process follows the normal application and interview process implemented by the prospective employer.
