Careers in Architecture

Many of our architecture graduates have gone on to have successful careers designing buildings and working with other professionals on building projects. They work hard to design modern functional buildings that are fit for purpose.

Architects design new buildings and get involved with regeneration projects, alterations of existing buildings, and the restoration and preservation of older buildings. They work closely with engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed to a high standard and on time.

Typical starting salary: £18,000 - £26,000

Architectural Technologist

Architectural technologists are specialists in the science of building design, and bridging the gap between the building design and reality. Their involvement in construction projects ensures that attractive, functional buildings are built, and done so in line with legal and other requirements. They may also be involved in monitoring costs and quality assurance.

Typical starting salary: £18,000 - £21,500
