MSc Property Development
This course will enhance your property development skills and knowledge, thus helping you to pursue a career as a property developer. It aims to provide a greater understanding of the development process, and correspondingly adds depth to the understanding of the broad economic and business context within which the industry operates.
Course material has a strong commercial focus and a practical orientation, and provides you with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to formulate and evaluate development proposals, and to finance and manage the development process.
The course is appropriate if you wish to broaden your knowledge and understanding of the subject and seek the skills to engage in development activities.

3. How you will learn
Our supported distance learning mode of delivery allows you to study online from any location and is designed to fit in around your work commitments. You will be taught and supported by experienced industry professionals who will recreate the same challenging interactive format of the on-campus courses for those studying at a distance.

4. Entry requirements
Applicants should normally have a degree from any subject, not necessarily related to a Built Environment or Engineering background.
Applicants who do not hold an honours degree but who have relevant professional membership of a recognised professional body or relevant industry experience, will normally be considered favourably for recruitment subject to interview.
For international students 6.5 IELTS or its equivalent in TOEFL is required.
5. Placements and accreditations
This course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB). The course is also accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and can lead to full corporate membership after completion of the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC).

Those completing this course have the opportunity to work in commercial roles within the building environment, either working privately and undertaking development projects or working within a large structure.
All our Modules on this MSc course are assessed entirely by coursework. The main assessment is normally by means of one significant piece of integrative coursework (which may include a combination of individual and group work) which would be submitted electronically via the Moodle Dropbox facility. This coursework will be graded in accordance with our procedures.
In addition to this significant piece of coursework, you will be asked to undertake a minimum of 2 activities or tests within the teaching programme which will be short concise submissions as determined by the Module tutors; these will be graded pass/fail but you must pass these short activities in order to be awarded the Module credits.
