Friends of Gray's Fund

Helping our students to learn, create and innovate...

The Friends of Gray's Fund will allow Gray's School of Art students to experience industry focused placement opportunities both at home and overseas, have access to state-of-the-art equipment, and take part in masterclasses and specialised training.

‘‘I was given a free hand to design what I wished and was able to broaden my artistic style in a creative and professional environment. The experience of working added so much to the university classes; not only did it broaden my design skills, it also developed my business skills. Having the experience of the work placement has brought me closer to my dream career.’’

The generous donations that we have received for the Friends of Gray's Fund has had an amazing impact on our students, but with your support we could do so much more. Please help us to go the extra mile for our students and donate today. For a donation form or further information please contact alumni@rgu.ac.uk or 01224 262285.

Alumni Adversity Fund

This year Robert Gordon University established the Alumni Adversity Fund which provides support to students facing financial difficulty. All full-time students are eligible to apply for the award to a maximum of £500.

Olga Argodyayeva, the first recipient of the Adversity Fund, graduated this summer with a first-class honours degree in Management with Human Resources.

Olga encountered financial difficulties in her final year when one of her parents suffered redundancy and her stepfather suffered a heart-attack. Struggling to raise her tuition fees and living expenses alone, she juggled two part-time jobs together with the heavy workload of her final year.

Thanks to Olga's determination and support from the Alumni Adversity Fund, she excelled in her studies. Olga expressed:

"I am very grateful for the financial support I was given as the money I received allowed me to cut down on the hours at my part-time jobs and concentrate on my dissertation and final year studies. As a result I was able to improve my grades in the second semester and gain a first class honours degree. Without the boost, I would not have secured my position as a Graduate Trainee at ASCO. Again, I would like to thank all of those who donated and made a big difference in my final year of university and my subsequent career."

Olga was just one of the grateful students whose lives have been transformed thanks to alumni donations; however, with your support we could help many more.
