BiographyBiography
Alan, originally from Edinburgh, studied Civil Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. He then worked in the construction industry for several years before taking up a lecturer's post in civil engineering at the University of Dundee. He progressively developed a role in quality assurance and became Director of Quality Assurance in 1998.
He has had extensive involvements in quality assurance and enhancement at the national and international levels. He completed a part-time PhD in Educational Research at Lancaster University in 2004 and joined RGU in November 2006.
