Our training and education packages are underpinned by the highly skilled and experienced community health practitioners delivering the programmes. Combining a rich experience in clinical and academic practice, we bring the same high level of rigour and excellence to our community health programmes as we do to the rest of our education and training.

We offer a range of training platforms, which can be delivered face-to-face or via eLearning, either in Aberdeen or globally, depending on your organisations needs.

As well as degrees in Occupational Health Nursing and Public Health Nursing, we offer Master’s programmes in Advanced Nursing Practice and Advanced District Nursing.  Dr Sheelagh Martindale, Lead for Commercialisation, discusses some of the advanced training options available at RGU in the panel on the right.  We also offer a range of stand-alone CPD modules, workshops and bespoke training options.  Some of our CPD modules include:

  • Childhood Obesity Management

    This course aims to give you a comprehensive understanding of the causes and consequences of childhood obesity, and to evaluate approaches to its treatment and prevention.

  • Leading and Advancing Practice

    Explore the concepts of leading and advancing practice within the policy context of NHS modernisation and redesign.

  • Long Term Conditions Management

    This short course encourages critical enquiry of the theoretical principles of long term conditions management.

  • Minor Illness Management

    This course will prepare first level registered nurses to run nurse led minor illness clinics in primary care.

  • Non-Medical Prescribing

    This course will help to prepare non-medical health professionals to prescribe within the relevant legislation.

  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy

    This course will enable participants to develop their awareness of Solution Focused Brief Therapy.
